Paris Patterson commits to Arkansas

East St. Louis (Ill.) offensive lineman Paris Patterson has committed to the Arkansas Razorbacks. Patterson, 6-6, 345, went public with his decision at approximately 5 pm on Monday, July 4, becoming Arkansas’ 19th verbal commitment for the Class of 2023.

He chose the Hogs over finalists Missouri, LSU, Nebraska, Jackson State and Tennessee. Patterson’s offer list also included Iowa State, Miami (Ohio), North Alabama, Northern Illinois, Northwestern State, Tulane, Tulsa, and Western Michigan.

Patterson was recruited to Fayetteville by offensive line coach Cody Kennedywho now holds three offensive line commitments in this year’s class including Patterson, four-star Luke Brown of Paris (Tenn.) Henry County, and three-star Joey Su’a of Bentonville (Ark.).

“I just always admired Coach Pitt (Sam Pittman) and I like what Coach (Cody) Kennedy is doing here so far,” Patterson said. “It’s a win-win.”

Patterson was offered by the Razorbacks after attending a camp in Fayetteville on June 22, then returned two days later with his family to begin an official visit with the Hogs.

According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Patterson is a three-star prospect, No. 492 nationally, No. 33 among all interior offensive linemen, and No. 8 in his home state of Illinois. 247Sports ranks Patterson higher, as the No. 27 interior offensive lineman in the country and the No. 7 player in Illinois.

Arkansas’ class is up to 219.68 total points following Patterson’s pledge, good for seventh in the nation and second in the SEC behind Georgia. The Razorbacks could get more good news on July 4 as four-star wide receiver Micah Tease of Tulsa (Okla.) Washington is set to announce his college decision at approximately 7 pm

In addition to Patterson, Arkansas’ 2023 class includes seven other offensive commitments in four-star quarterback Malachi Singleton of Kennesaw (Ga.) North Cobb, three-star running back Isaiah Augustave of Naples (Fla.), a trio of four-star tight ends in Shamar Easter of Ashdown (Ark.), Luke Hasz of Bixby (Okla.), and Jaden Hamm of Eudora (Kan.), four-star offensive lineman Luke Brown of Paris (Tenn.) Henry County, and three-star offensive lineman Joey Su’a of Bentonville (Ark.).

The defensive class includes four-star defensive lineman Quincy Rhodes Jr., of North Little Rock (Ark.), three-star defensive lineman Stephen Johnson of Fayetteville (Ga.) Whitewater, three-star defensive lineman Ian Geffrard of Mableton (Ga.) Whitefield Academy, three-star defensive end Kaleb James of Mansfield (Texas), four-star edge rusher Carson Dean of Carrollton (Texas) Hebron, three-star linebacker Alex Sanford of Oxford (Miss.), three-star cornerback RJ Johnsonthree-star safety Christian Ford of McKinney (Texas), three-star safety TJ Metcalf of Pinson (Ala.) Pinson Valley, unranked safety Dylan Hasz of Bixby (Okla.), and three-star cornerback Dallas Young of Gardendale (Ala.).
